The European Union General Data Protection Regulation(GDPR)

I do agree this is immense and am sure a number of African countries will
be affected. I think its prudent for companies to review all their
information assets and understand why the hold, how and why they retain and
process it. Secondly is to establish and document a lawful basis for
processing the personal data. I think a lot of African countries do handle
and process data of EU citizens and its the 3rd party contractual
agreements that will expose most of these. I think a process should be in
place to accurately reflect their obligations and liabilities.
