Privacy and Governance Professionals Survey Report

The Data Privacy and Governance Society carried out a survey of privacy
and governance professionals. The survey was to help us gain insights into
the current state of our profession. Some highlights from the survey:
– 59% of data privacy professionals do not hold any certification
– 23% of data privacy professionals carry out both internal and external
Data Protection Officer (DPO) roles
– 50% of internal DPOs experience conflict in their role
– 39% of internal DPOs earn less than Ksh. 100,000 (USD 690) per month
– 70% of external DPOs are from the legal profession
