The Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) in collaboration with
The Digital Transformation Centre, implemented by The Deutsche Gesellschaft
für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ), and THiNK launched the ODPC
chatbot Linda Data (#LindaData

in January, 2024. This chatbot was developed to demonstrate how AI can be
used for service delivery by the government. Development of Linda Data also
showcases how AI products can be built while incorporating privacy, by
design. Furthermore, the creation of the chatbot also exemplifies
activities within the Kenyan tech ecosystem that give rise to AI products
tailormade for the Kenyan market, by Kenyans.
