Do Internet Shutdowns Take a Toll on Africa’s Internet Economy?- A Survey

Good afternoon Listers,

Internet Shutdowns has been a recurring discussion in this list and indeed
all over Africa. Often, the discussion on Internet Shutdowns is with a
focus on the impact on human rights with little emphasis on the impact on
the economy.

KICTANet’s Joash Moitui; Yolanda Mlonzi (Internet Society- Gauteng Chapter,
SA) and Aicha Jeridi (African Civil Society on Information Society, MENA)
will conduct a workshop titled, “Internet Shutdowns Taking a Toll on
Africa’s Internet Economy” at the 2017 UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF)
taking place from 18-21 December 2017, at the United Nations Office at
Geneva (UNOG).

To inform the discussion during the workshop, the facilitators have
requested volunteers to participate in a survey by filling this online
questionnaire:

docs.google.com/forms/d/1iPMMxCj01qfQ6os1LDlYoCjU_sUluJk-ebKLt80YhEM/edit?ts=5a1d2071

The purpose of the survey is to collate views and perspectives on the
impact of internet shutdowns on the economy. It’s a fairly short survey.
Please spare five minutes to fill in the questionnaire.

Asante!
