Fwd: Promotion for registration of .africa at 200 KES

Hi Ali,

The AFRICA renewal fee. I charge R299 for renewals, just over US$22. Its
that price regardless of whether is was purchased as a Premium or a
special sale price. Its also the price of a regularly purchased new
domain. When we started charging for CO.ZA – the price was R200 and that
was 20+ years ago – so the AFRICA price is not that out of scope. If you
are buying directly from the Registry – the price is obviously less, but
my markup is not that high. The XYZ domains were at one time being sold
for under US$1 – but who honestly can expect that to be the ongoing
(renewal) price. The current pricing is clearly advertised as being a
Sale or special price – \”Asante Promotion\” (Thank you promotion). The
practise is also quite common in the Domain Name marketing world. Has
not .KE also done this at times?
