CA Launches Universal Service Fund (USF) Strategy 2023–2027
USF has been a a topic of discussion for as long as I have been in Telco.
>From 2G, 3G, 4G and now we are in 5G.
Mine is not to disparage the discussion currently ongoing. Rather, is to
ask if we could relook at what is happening with the integration of NTN and
3GPP 17 onwards wrt Non Terrestrial infrastructure.
New and emerging technologies like HAPS can also help bridge the gap.
TheOther 3 Billion tried globally. These are lessons learnt. We can pick on
this.
Whilst building on the customary terrestrial networks is what we know and
used to, perhaps we could relook at this and as also pointed out– by
someone in the commnts– review the ecosystem to include devices. The
fiscal policy is not currently enabling as it ought to be.
