[kelvinndmo/ke-accountability] Kill the Kenya Robotics And Artificial Intelligence Society Bill, 2023 (Issue #49)

Hello world
“The principal aim of this Bill is to facilitate the provision of secure,
proficient, and
high-performing ICT services in the country.” *I wanna triple quote*
Let’s start with clause 27. For you to utilize the ICT resources you need
accreditation and only after payment of a fee. Let’s take a moment.
Tech thrives on skills and skills are sharpened day in and day out, would
you agree?

Degrees have been earned but skills have been helping us foster innovation
solving key pain points we face.
Would clause 27 (1) limit talent, innovation, and growth in the tech space?
The ICT authorities will have the authority to impose standards and codes
of conduct, there might be an abuse of power because 29 (1)(b) clearly
states your accreditation will be suspended if one “has conducted business
in a manner that is detrimental to the interest of a public entity.”
What manner is this? Any manner that is not in their interest?

Looks like a confinement that’s being created to tame the wind. Is it
possible?

Join us this Friday as we dive deep into the ICTA 2024 Bill and raise our
voices.

To ensure everyone’s voice is heard, fill in the Google form below with the
clause you are addressing, the issue, and justification.
